Why should I sell on Godly Goods?
Many Christians would love to shop from Christian-owned businesses — if they knew where to find them. That’s where we come in. Godly Goods is like a giant shopping mall filled entirely with Christian businesses. By setting up shop here, you make it easier for your target audience to find you.
Teeny disclaimer: we’re kinda the new mall on the block. Not everybody knows about us yet. But, we’re working hard to get the word out that this is the place the Christian businesses hang out. If you don’t get a lot of sales on our site immediately, we hope you’ll stick around awhile, because we’re reaching more people every day.
How does my being on Godly Goods help other Christian businesses succeed?
As 1 Corinthians says, we are all one in the body of Christ, and if one part suffers, we all suffer with it, and if one part is honored, we all rejoice. By joining Godly Goods, you help other members in the body of Christ, and they help you! When you sell a well made product and provide excellent customer service, the buyer is more likely to return to Godly Goods — to shop from you as well as to find other Christian shops to support. And the other Sellers on Godly Goods are creating the same opportunity for you.
“For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body…And if one part of the body suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if a part is honored, all the parts rejoice with it.” 1 Corinthians 12:13a, 26
What can I sell on Godly Goods?
It’s your shop; fill it how you’d like. Apparel, toys, homewares, jewelry, tools, office supplies, books, kitchen supplies, food… we like it all. We welcome most types of physical and digital products. We only have a few basic rules to abide by:
- It’s got to be ethical by Christian standards. We keep it clean and family-friendly around here. Your products need to be God-honoring and cannot contradict Christian beliefs or the Bible.
- You, your business, and your products should align with the Godly Goods Statement of Faith.
- Anything you sell must meet all applicable product compliance and safety standards.
- Only sell the items you have the intellectual property rights to sell.
- You are responsible for ensuring your product is eligible to be sold in the US and that you are following the guidelines and policies of your supplier/manufacturer/product brand.
What can I not sell on Godly Goods?
To ensure Godly Goods stays Christ-centered, safe, and trustworthy, we don’t allow:
- Non-Christian spiritual or religious items (e.g., tarot cards, crystals marketed for healing or energy power, manifestation products, Buddha statues, Quran-themed items, etc…)
- Explicit or inappropriate content, including profanity, sexual innuendo or material, or vulgarity
- Hateful or discriminatory items, content, or language
- Illegal or regulated items
- Items that are heavily used or in poor condition
- Misleading or theologically harmful items or content (guaranteed miracles or healings, etc…)
- Copyright or trademark violations (Scripture from versions that require licensing, lyrics used commercially without rights, images or content used without permission, etc…)
- Unsafe, non-compliant, or dishonest products
We reserve the right to remove any product or seller that doesn’t align with our mission and values.
How do I get paid?
Godly Goods uses Stripe as our payment processor for all orders. When you join as a Seller, you’ll set up your payout account that you want Stripe to deliver your funds to.
How long does it take to get paid for my sales?
Here’s where we do things a little differently — a good for our Sellers kinda different. While most platforms hold your funds for a few days, or even hold a portion of your funds on reserve, we don’t. Your funds are released when the order is completed (shipped and marked complete by the Seller/s).
Here’s how it works when a customer places an order: Stripe processes the transaction. The Seller processes their order, packaging it and shipping it out. As soon as the Seller/s mark the order complete. Stripe doles out the funds, keeping 2.9% + $0.30, sending a small percentage (7% for new Sellers) to Godly Goods, and delivering the rest to you.
What fees do I pay as a Seller? Give me all the fine print on fees.
We keep it simple! Here are fees you pay to sell your products on Godly Goods:
- 7% Commission to Godly Goods (This percentage drops with your success. 6% when you hit $20K in sales and 5% when you hit $50K in lifetime sales on the platform)
- Payment Processing Fees of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction to Stripe our payment processor
That’s it! We don’t charge a listing fee, monthly fee, or any hidden fees.
How many product listings do I start with?
New sellers can post up to 15 active listings. As you build momentum and sales, your limit increases automatically.
Do I handle my own shipping and fulfillment?
Yes. Godly Goods Sellers are responsible for fulfilling their orders, including packing, shipping, and communicating with customers if needed.
Can I sell both physical and digital products in my shop?
Yep! And it’s easy to do. When you’re uploading a product, you’ll simply check two boxes to mark the product as “virtual” and “downloadable.”
Can I sell print-on-demand items on Godly Goods?
Sure thing. However, we are not integrated with any print-on-demand services.
Can I sell products I didn’t personally make?
For sure. As long as you have the legal right to sell the product, you’re good to go.
Can I sell vintage or used products on Godly Goods?
Go for it, but please be very clear in your listing title and description that the product is pre-owned. We also don’t allow heavily used items in poor condition. So, “yes” to a vintage t-shirt, lightly worn homeschool curriculum, or collectible dishes and “no” to garage sale-quality clothes or housewares, opened hygiene items, or an item that needs to be repaired. See our policies for more detail.
What can I do to get more visibility or sales on Godly Goods?
We are committed to actively marketing and working to draw customers to all our Sellers. We encourage every Seller to promote their shop and products through social media, email lists, and word of mouth.
Is there a contract or long-term commitment if I become a Godly Goods Seller?
Nope. You can close your shop any time. You can also put your shop into “vacation” mode if you need to take a break but want to be sure you don’t lose your shop name or a lower commission percentage if you’ve locked one in.
What countries and currencies do you support?
We’re exclusively available in the US right now. We’re looking forward to expanding to more countries and currencies in the future.
What happens if a customer requests a return or refund?
Sellers are responsible for setting and honoring their own return and refund policies. We recommend displaying this information in your shop. Your Seller dashboard has a spot to set this up.
How do I get approved to sell on Godly Goods? And what’s the approval process like?
We’d love for you to apply! Just fill out our Seller application. It will ask you a bit of info about your business and products, and then you can upload an image of at least one of your products or give us the link to your social media (or another site where your products are listed). We’ll take a look and then email your approval status. Once approved, you’ll get a link to log in to your Godly Goods dashboard, and you can set up your payouts and get started selling right away.
